GREEN HONORED AT POWERSOUTH ANNUAL MEETING

ANDALUSIA, ALA.– Braxton Green of Louisville was recognized for his service to the PowerSouth Board of Trustees from 2007 to 2010 during PowerSouth’s Annual Meeting on May 28.

Green represented Pea River EC on PowerSouth’s Board of Trustees, serving on the Marketing and Economic Development Committee.

Green’s tenure on the PowerSouth Board was during a period of long-term planning and key decision-making regarding PowerSouth’s future, including changing the company’s name from Alabama Electric Cooperative (AEC) in 2008, the completion of a $400 million air quality control project at the Lowman Power Plant in 2009 and the construction of McIntosh Units 4 and 5 at the McIntosh Power Plant.

“Mr. Green has been a valuable member of our board of trustees, who collectively govern the PowerSouth organization,” said Gary Smith, PowerSouth President and CEO. “A unified board of trustees is critical to PowerSouth’s success, and Mr. Green’s contributions to the organization have been greatly appreciated.”
