OPERATING SERVICES ACHIEVES YEAR WITH NO LOST-TIME INJURIES

ANDALUSIA, ALA. — On March 5, PowerSouth’s Operating Services Department – now named Transmission and Distribution – achieved a year with no lost-time accidents, or 160,160 safe working hours.

“I’m very pleased at your dedication and the respect that you have for our safety program,” said Terry Wilson, PowerSouth Transmission and Distribution Operation and Maintenance Manager, to employees during a celebratory safety luncheon April 18. “It is and must be our number one priority in everything we do. Through our safety program, you can practice the golden rule, do unto others as you would have them do unto you.”

Transmission and Distribution employees are part of PowerSouth’s Power Delivery Division and carry out the vital role of providing an efficient, reliable system by which PowerSouth delivers power to our distribution members. Safe working practices are crucial to the success of this task, as employees must work in a variety of environments every day. They are faced with risks ranging from heat exhaustion to driving accidents, and back injuries to electric shock.

“It has taken everyone in this room to see us achieve this milestone,” Wilson said. “I challenge you to make it another year with no lost-time accidents, and I’m confident that working together, we can.”
